COMMITTEES
Annual Meeting: Chairman, Charles Sessions
Members: The entire BOD participates, in various ways, on this committee. The purpose of this committee is to plan, and implement, the Annual Meeting in a way that best serves our prime mission of maintaining the value of SRS retiree benefits. Benefits: Chairman, Sidney Curry Members: David Cowfer, Michael French, Nick Kuehn, Charles Miller, Ellen Miller, Ed Somers, Robert Stokes, Raam Vichare The purpose of the Benefits Committee is to identify and address issues that could adversely affect the benefits of SRSRA members. Charter & Bylaws: Chairman, Quitman White Members: Andrew Cwalina, Stanley Smith The purpose of this committee is to review the Bylaws of the SRS Retiree Association Corporation each year, and to develop proposals, if necessary, for revisions to the Bylaws. Proposals that are accepted by the Board of Directors are then presented to the membership for approval at the Annual Meeting.
Historical Files: Historian, Judith Maddox
Assistant: Dupree Simmons The Historian maintains lists and hard copies of SRSRA documents for record and archival purposes. Medical Interface: Chairperson, Dale Friar Members: John Church, Kenneth Cooper, Ellen Miller, Rhonda Priester The function of this Committee is to provide guidance and help for members who are having problems obtaining proper reimbursement for their medical expenses as provided by the Medical Benefits contract between SRS and its contractor retirees. Membership: Chairman, Kent Sullivan Members: Samuel Goforth, Ed Somers, Robert Stokes Please encourage your retired WSRC and BSRI friends to join the association at $15.00 per year. Additional numbers can increase our effectiveness with elected officials and the Savannah River Site.
Newsletter: Editor, David Zigelman
Assistant: Samuel Goforth The Newsletter committee is responsible for preparing the SRSRA Newsletters. Nomination: Chairman, Joe Yanek Members: Arthur Blanchard, Robert Stokes The Nomination committee is responsible for developing a slate of candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. This slate is presented to the entire membership at the Annual Meeting where individuals are elected to serve on the Board of Directors.
ORA: Representative, Quitman White
Email the SRSRA ORA representative at orarep@srsretirees.org Pension Adjustment: Chairman,Ken Cooper Members: Fred Cavanaugh, Dave Cowfer, Sid Curry, Michael French The purpose of this committee is to do everything necessary (collect information, develop and implement the strategy, etc.) to maintain the value of retirees pensions at the time of retirement, accounting for inflation. Public Relations & Communications: Chairman, Joe Ortaldo Members: Fred Cavanaugh, Sidney Curry, Michael French, Robert Stokes The Public Relations and Communications Committee is responsible for communicating the Retiree Association position statements to the news media. The Committee also develops the advertising campaign to announce the Annual Meeting to the public and the media.
Recognition of Past Service: Sid Curry, Mike French
The SRSRA Recognition of Past Service committee is responsible for identifying individual members who have rendered outstanding service to the SRSRA and other individuals who have provided outstanding support for the mission and programs of the SRSRA and then nominating these individuals for recognition awards. These awards are made after approval by the Board of the SRSRA.
Retiree Work: Nick Kuehn, Charles Sessions
The SRSRA Retiree Work committee works primarily to match retirees who are interested in returning to work at the Savannah River Site with program needs at the site by providing the names of the retirees and their resumes to site staffing. The committee also works to provide information about both site and non-site related jobs to retirees.

The mission of the SRSRA Website Committee is to provide information about the association, health benefits, pensions, SRS missions, and general information of interest to SRS retirees. The site will be frequently updated.
